Gable Electric Company was
incorporated in 1956 by Paul Gable. At that time Gable Electric was a small
residential and service contractor. It was not until the early 1980's that
we found our niche in commercial retail development. Gary Dorsett came to
work for Paul Gable in 1964. In less than a years time Mr. Dorsett was
promoted to the foreman position and started running wok for Gable Electric.
In Paul Gable's son Buddy Gable took over running the
company. In 1978, after many very successful years in the field as a
foreman, Gary Dorsett bought Gable Electric Company from Buddy Gable. Since
that time Mr. Dorsett's drive and vision have built Gable Electric Company
into one of the most well respected Electrical Contractors in the Southeast.
Mr. Dorsett while initially continuing to pursue apartment complexes slowly
moved Gable Electric Company's main focus into the Retail Development
sector. Since then we have continued to grow as a company and develop new
and exciting relationships with both general contractors and many
retail chains.
Eventually we abandoned any form of residential work, including apartment
complexes, and focused only on retail and commercial projects. While we have
completed thousands of retail projects since our inception, we always
continue to grow and add new types of commercial, industrial, or retail work
to our repartee. Some of the many ,other then retail projects, we have been
involved with include manufacturing and industrial plants, churches, office
complexes, restaurants, movie theatres, universities, car dealerships,
police departments, and hotels. As our mission statement above states while
Gable Electric has a goal to make money, as any business does, everything we
do as a company is for the benefit of our company "family". In today's
marketplace it is hard to maintain an unchanging workforce, however; Gable
Electric has experienced a low turnover rate from our key employees during
our decades of growth. Of our office staff more than half have been with
Gable Electric Company for 15 or more years and we have many field
supervisors who have been with us between 10 and 25 years. These long term
employees are a testament to the type of company we struggled to become and
continue to struggle every day to maintain.
